Hello One & All!
I’m so sorry that it seems like a long time since I’ve been sat here to blog but I’m afraid I’ve been suffering from colds and naseau and generally under-the-weatherness and have only just been able to say I am feeling about 95% again!
I have been surviving on these:
While wrapped in these:
And while I was feeling rather coldy I was staring in an admiring way at something that had arrived at my house a few days before and still sits in it’s protective packaging for fear that it will become sullied if I release it into the jungle which is my house.
This thing I was looking at is linen, a beautiful natural beige colour with lovely crimson pattern hearts….If any of you have read my previous post on something I won from the fantastic blog Modern Country Style, you’ll be knowing exactly what I’m talking about.
You’ve Got It.
It’s that scrumptious, fabulous, pretty and most autumnal Tablecloth which I won from New House Textiles at the Modern Country Style Blog and it looks a little something like this:
Thank you to those at New House Textiles for the Table Cloth and lovely note which accompanied it and thank you Sarah at Modern Country Style for hosting the competition!
So, what shall I do today? Perhaps look out some table decorations and designs for my new autumnal/Christmas table cloth?
I think so.
p.s. If you want some interesting readings I suggest:
Guy Fawkes Night by Happy Homemaker UK – For History
Operation Beautiful by Pine Cones and Acorns – For A Boost
GIVEAWAY ALERT! by tales from cuckoo land – For A Competition
Brilliant news one and all, and news which really did shock me quite a bit! I follow a blog called Modern Country Style, which is great and I get loads of ideas and fun from. About a week or so ago, there was a post on table cloths and it showed a beautiful linen table cloth made from linen mix in a neutral colour and with gorgeous red hearts printed around the hem which was a repeat of a larger heart pattern down the centre of the table cloth…Seriously….you need to see it….It’s fantastic….
Sweetheart Table Cloth - Natural
Well anyway, then there was a post a few days later saying that we could win one of the table cloths, donated by New House Textiles, if we just commented saying how we subscribe to Modern Country Style (which of course I do because it’s fantastic). So, without really considering I might win I commented saying I subscribed by email and lo and behold, I WON!
New House Textiles - The Table Cloth Donators
It was such a shock and as I said to Sarah (the blogger behind Modern Country Style) I’ve barely ever won any type of competition and I loved the table cloth but would never have been able to get it for myself, so as you can imagine, it was such a lovely surprise!

Now I just have to wait for the lovely thing to arrive and then I shall be spreading my table with it 🙂 wonderful!
P.S. If you haven’t yet, check out my Travel section and the latest holiday in Scotland which is recommended!

So, because I have so many things I want to talk about that are on some really different topics I’ve decided to make full use of the pages function on my blog. I think this is an easier way for me to pop up bits of information which I think people might like to read, might help people etc. Like, I’ve made a baking page – EXCITING.
On the baking page you can expect to find some recipes which I’ve come across and think are really tastey etc. Hopefully I’ll pop up a few and change them around a bit so you can see recipes for specific seasons etc. If you have any ideas then feel free to come by and pop me a message and I can put up the recipe which you’re dying to share!
Then there’s a travel page. Now I’m all for getting away on holiday and taking time for yourself! This is why I have created this page, this way I can pop up either camping destinations in the UK, lovely holidays abroad or anything in between really. This hopefully will be helpful to people who want some holiday ideas or who know of anywhere they think would be good to put on that page 🙂
So, it’ll be a bit of me and a bit of all you lovlies to combine to create a pool of interesting and helpful tid-bits for reading and using – I hope this sounds good.
Also, I’m offering an open invitation for anyone who would like to come and guestblog on this blog to get into contact with me through commenting. I would love to host someone’s post (Ooo, I rhymed!). I’m thinking, as we’re getting into the colder seasons maybe something apt for the time of year? Anyway, let me know any suggestions you may have and I’d love to take a look!
In the meantime, I found a picture I thought everyone would appreciate, and as this is a bit of unusual updatey blog I thought I’d end on something nice –
I just couldn’t resist putting up this picture of an idyllic country cottage in autumn – Enjoy – I shall just be jealous from where I sit here…
Okay, so it may seem a little arrogant to write a blog post about myself, but then again, isn’t it the perfect way to introduce myself and the Lizzy Bradbury blog which I’m hoping to write?
My name is Elizabeth Bradbury. I am a self-employed writer, though you must not judge my writing on this page as I am relaxed in this space!
I enjoy loads of different things. I love travelling, I have been to America, France, Greek Islands, Malta and Portugal to name a few. I am a D.I.Y. enthusiast and love to chop and change around my house. I’m always glancing at the home magazines on the supermarket shelves when I should be buying vegetables!
I am interested in charity work and do believe that everyone should give something back. After all, if you don’t then you’re just looking out for yourself which is not the way the human race has gotten this far in my opinion.
So, yeah, pretty much that is Lizzy Bradbury. I’m hoping this blog is somewhere to vent the old opinions, to write about things in life in general and to blog on things that are currently happening in the world.
So stay tuned….
